KOB Eyewitness News 4 got a look inside a new museum dedicated to
the men and women who served at Roswell’s Walker Air Force Base more
than 40 years ago. Museum officials say they have collected hundreds
of pictures and items that will now be on display. The museum took
more than three years worth of planning and gathering artifacts.
Retired First Class Airman Wayne Kross served at Walker and can’t
believe the memories the museum brings back. “Sometimes you tend to
forget, 50 years ago... Back then it was real. Different today, but
it was a big part of my life for two years,” said Kross. Walker Air
Force Base was home to the Enola Gay and some of the Air Force’s
biggest planes. The museum is located the Roswell Aircenter Terminal
and is open to the public every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information on Walker Air Force Base visit
